Velocity Jr. gathers STEAM for families this midwinter break

Utica Community Schools and the City of Sterling Heights are once again teaming up to provide the popular Velocity Jr. this mid-winter break. 

Velocity Jr. is a popular series of camps designed to create excitement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. 

Tweny new camps will be available for students during mid-winter break - Feb. 20-24 - for all K through 6th grade students. The camps are held at Rose Kidd Elementary, 38397 Gladstone near Utica and 17 Mile roads, and Duncan Elementary, 14500 26 Mile. 

Camps are age-appropriate and include such things as: Dino Dig, Robotics Robo-Battle, Pokemon Video Game Design and Kudo Kart Racing. 

Velocity Jr. is open to all interested families and is a partnership of Utica Community Schools, the City of Sterling Heights and local business professionals.

The program is a complement to the economic development efforts housed at the Velocity Collaboration Center in Sterling Heights, a center for business incubation and economic development, targeting defense, homeland security and advanced manufacturing.
