Summary of the January 8 Board of Education

Superintendent's Update
Dr. Christine Johns presented an update on the end of the semester.  

 School Funding Study Resolution
The Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution of support for the School Finance Research Collaborative – a bipartisan group of 22 top industry and education experts that is re-examining the approach to school funding in Michigan. Adoptions
The Board adopted a Computer Science Discoveries Course and
Policy 1115 - Web Accessibility.

Stevenson MADE
A presentation was made on the Stevenson Manufacturing, Automation, Design and Engineering (MADE) Academy. The academy provides interested students with a comprehensive academic experience in the areas of fabrication, automation and design leading to preparation for college and careers. The Board also received a first reading on Design Thinking course for the ninth grade students that will be attending MADE.

Appointment
Brooke Insana was appointed to the position of Director of Employee Benefits and Reporting.
