Students and staff standing with a large checkIt may be spring, but the holiday season is already on the minds of Malow Junior High School students.

Recently, the school’s National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) held a gift card drive to raise funds to support the Friends of Foster Kids (FOFK). Malow students raised more than $1,200.

"It is important because we fortunate people take for granted all the things we get in life and others might not have that luxury,” said Stuart Hendricks, 8th Grade NJHS Member.  “I feel we need to help the kids with what they're going through.”

The FOFK will use the gift cards to support the group’s mission to brighten the holidays for foster children. Group Founder Theresa Toia recognized the Malow NJHS for their hard work to support the organization.

“This is an amazing team of Angels!” she said.
