For the sixth straight year, Utica Community Schools has earned national recognition for its high standards in reporting financial information to its community.

The district is among approximately 500 nationally to earn a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) from the Association of School Business Officials International.

“UCS is committed to providing its taxpayers with comprehensive financial information that reflects their investment in our schools,” superintendent Dr. Christine Johns said. “This national recognition reaffirms an important accountability measure of our school district.”

Districts are awarded the recognition based on a review of their CAFR documents by a team of professional auditors.

The CAFR certificate was awarded for the 2016-2017 fiscal audit.
