More About Us
  • Burr was a first round winner of the Governor's "Michigan Golden Apple Award" for improvement in student achievement.
  • Students continue to be provided with support programs during and after school hours. Homework Club and Study Smart provide extra help for students.
  • PTA provides our students with many educational advantages. Fun Fair and Field Day, Accelerated Reader, Peacekeeper Awards, All "A" breakfast and a new playscape for the school playground are just a few of the benefits and programs provided by the PTA
  • The Burr Elementary Historical Society has applied for Burr to be recognized as a historical site. In 1997, a replica of a one-room schoolhouse, constructed from original bricks used by the Burr family, was built near the front entrance. This schoolhouse is also a time capsule. In 1999 the area in front of the schoolhouse was paved with engraved patio bricks honoring the staff of yesterday and today. In our "Hall of Learning" important historical events that have occurred since Burr opened in 1845 have been depicted.
