Welcome to Dresden Elementary School. We serveآ536 students in Kindergarten through sixth grade, plus classes for preschool and nursery age children.

Points of Pride
  • Dresden's teaching staff continually assesses student achievement and utilizes research-based strategies and interventions in every classroom to meet student needs.
  • In addition to every staff member being 100% highly qualified, all K-3 staff have received intensive professional development (90 hours) in the area of reading instruction.
  • Summer Math and Literacy lessons based on identified areas of needing improvement were developed and shared with students and parents and were made available on-line for summertime fun.
  • The teaching staff (including support staff) is devoted to early intervention through incorporating the co-teaching model into the classroom.آThereby continually monitoring progress and implementing interventions that address all student needs.
  • State of the art facility with immediate access to wireless technology throughout the building for the purpose of promoting 21st century skills.
  • Our building won $5000 in the Box Tops for Education Sweepstakes.
  • Students participate in numerous curricular and non-curricular enriched opportunities such as Academically Talented and Gifted Program, Homework Club, Science Olympiad, Honors Choir, District Art Fair, Band, Service Squad, and Safety Patrol.
  • Students are active participants in community service projects such as Pint Size Heroes (Red Cross), Halloween Gram's to Support Children's Hospital, Walk-A-Thon to raise funds for the county CARE program, Hat, Mitten and Canned Food Drive to support the Extended Hands, Pennies for Patients supporting the Leukemia Foundation, and our 1st Annual Dresden Holiday Toy Exchange and holiday grams to sponsor our own Dresden families during the holidays.
  • Fifth and sixth graders participate in a 4-H Outdoor Adventure Challenge Club.آOur two coaches, a staff member and her husband, received state recognition in the Michigan 4-H Salute to Excellence Lifetime Volunteer Award.
  • Received "Michigan Green School" status for initiating energy savings activities and introducing programs to further environmental education.
  • Two staff members wrote competitive grants and were awarded the funding to extend student learning outside of the school building.
