Supporting Our Schools

Flanked with boxes filled with backpacks, Kiwanis president Roger Reibling, and club members Joe Leone and Jeff Henderson were excited to make their special deliveries today. The Sterling Heights based club, along with the High Noon club, filled 175 backpacks with a wide-array of school supplies including folders, composition books, pencils and glue sticks for local students getting ready to go back to school.
First stop of the day was at Havel Elementary were the club members delivered 30 backpacks for the school. “We’ve been doing this program for nearly ten years now,” commented Leone. “It is something our club really enjoys doing for the community.”
In addition to the efforts of the Sterling Heights clubs, the Utica-Shelby Kiwanis made donations of 100 backpacks for homeless children in MISD and 100 to benefit other children in UCS.
