Utica Community Schools student musicians have received “All State” honors from
the Michigan School and Band Orchestra Association.

This year, students prepared an announced etude and a series of scales for their recorded audition. Each video audition is submitted with no reference to the school.
The
auditions are evaluated by an adjudicator and placed in order. The required
number of instruments is selected to fill each section. An average of over
2,000 students audition each year for the 400 seats in five ensembles: a Middle
School String Orchestra, a Middle School Band, a High School Full Orchestra, a
High School Band and a High School Jazz Ensemble.
