Chargers Every student receives a device charger to use ONLY with the school laptop deployed to them. The chargers are numbered and signed out to each incoming student. This is the only charger that is to be used with the UCS device.
Please do not use any other charger with the device.
If a student damages or misplaces the charger, a $38 replacement fee will be applied to the PowerSchool account. Students SHOULD NOT use each other's chargers. This is the major reason chargers go missing. The student that loans out a charger and does not retrieve it, will have to pay the replacement cost if it goes missing. Chargers are NOT covered by Device Insurance.
To avoid losing a charger while at school, students should charge the laptops each night to be ready for the following school day and leave them at home.

STUDENT IDs The UCS Policy is for ALL students to have their Student ID visible, from the time they enter the building, during passing times, during lunch times, and when requesting a hall pass. It is very important that students understand and respect this policy. When a student is seen without an ID, they are sent to the office to get another one*.
There is no charge for the first ID and lanyard. Replacement costs for lost or damaged ID's are $5 and Davis lanyards are $1/3 each. *Fees will be added to your PowerSchool accounts if students do not pay the day they are reissued another. Students are welcome to buy their own lanyard if they choose.

If you have not already done so, a suggested $20 donation per family would be greatly appreciated to help offset the cost of numerous programs at DJH.
100% of your monetary donation directly benefits our school. Money will go to offset costs for the following: Freshman Farewell, Student Awards, Positive Behavior Support (PBS) rewards, purchase of additional classroom technology, special events/assemblies, Where Everybody Belongs (WEB) mentoring program, instructional and classroom needs, and any other purchase to benefit our students.
All students that donate money through this manner will be eligible for all fundraising fun events throughout the year as a way of saying thank you!
Cash or a check payable to DJH is very appreciated. Thank you!

2025-26 Device Insurance ...
...The window to purchase this insurance has closed. For new families enrolling after the Sept. 5the deadline, you will have 10 days from the date of enrollment to purchase Device Insurance.
Accidental drops and liquid spills are the two most common damages that would be covered in full (first occurrence) by device insurance.
Not covered is intentional damage; such as removing/prying off keys, removing the protected cover thus causing damage to the screen, defacing the laptop in any manner, and using the wrong charger.
Chargers are signed out with the laptops and should be the only ones used with the district laptops. (see charger info above)
