Good afternoon Titan community,
We had a fun week filled with spirit days, homecoming court announcements, and the homecoming pep assembly. We are finishing off the week with the Homecoming parade, game, and dance.
The Homecoming dance is rain or shine, at Dodge Park, Saturday, September 28th from 7 pm to 10 pm. Student ID is required for entry. No students will be allowed in after 8 pm, and students cannot leave before 9 pm. The dance is open to 10th-12th grade Stevenson students. Tickets are not transferable, and there are no refunds.
On Thursday, September 26, the Stevenson Athletic Booster Club lit up the evening with the second annual Stevenson Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony! This year, we proudly welcomed eight incredible individuals and one outstanding team into the Hall, honoring their remarkable contributions to Stevenson athletics. See the Titan Voice for more exciting details and a list of our 2024 inductees.
The Writing Center is now OPEN. Located in E-73, walk-ins are welcome during all lunches, or students may email essays to stevensonwritingcenter@gmail.com. For email submissions, please allow 2 school days for tutors to read and respond.
School pictures that were taken at Titan Days have been passed out in your child’s first hour. If you have not received your pictures, please have your child talk to their first our teacher. Picture retake day is October 17. Senior Quick Shoots are on November 21 & 22.
Please join us on Sunday, October 6 at 7:00 pm for Band-A-Rama. All four high schools will perform at Runkel Field at Stevenson High School.
Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 10. Conference Manager will be used to schedule your Parent Teacher conferences again this year. Parents will have the option to sign up for in person conferences from 11:30-2:30 or virtual conferences from 3:30 – 7:00. You must have an appointment to enter the building. Parent Teacher Conferences will open for scheduling on October 1, 2024 at 6:00 am – Wednesday October 9, 2024 @ 11:25 PM. An email was sent out on September 26 with more information.
Parents, please continue checking PowerSchool for grades, missing assignments, and attendance. Progress Reports will be available in PowerSchool on September 27, 2024.
CAP AND GOWNS Seniors and Senior Parents – watch for an email and information regarding Cap and Gown. Coming Soon!
ATTENDANCE When a student has accumulated 11 absences* in any one class over the course of a semester, the student will be notified in a meeting with an assistant/associate principal that they have lost credit in that class and that they are placed on an attendance contract to earn the credit back. There are two parts to a contract. First, the student must pass the class with a D- or higher. Second, the student will show improvement in attendance in ALL classes. Improvement is determined on a sliding scale which allows for 1 absence for every three weeks (rounded up) left in the semester for each class.
COUNSELING UPDATES UCS has just released the attached credit recovery information. This would be needed for any students who are behind on credits needed for graduation due to failing a course(s). For questions, please contact your student's counselor.

Counselors will help students prepare to take the next steps after graduation. Whether this looks like applying to a 2- or 4-year college, trade school, military, or straight to the world of work, counselors encourage students to start preparing now.
Nationally, October is recognized as College Awareness Month. Early decision applications are due by November 1st, and many colleges are offering free applications during the month of October. Counselors will be available for students to further discuss this process during all lunch periods throughout October on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Counseling Office. In addition, counselors will be discussing financial aid (FAFSA), scholarships, application deadlines, writing great essays, sending transcripts/test scores, and much more!
Tamara Threatt, Admissions and Outreach Coordinator from Macomb Community College is coming on October 8th to meet with any student that would like to learn more about Macomb Community College in the Media Center during all lunch periods. The new Community College Guarantee is something that we are very excited about, and we hope this has opened doors to many students that wish to pursue a post-secondary education. Please visit: Community College Guarantee (michigan.gov) for more information.
Please check out our website Counseling / Counseling Staff (uticak12.org) for more information! Also, it is imperative that students follow us on Schoology with code: KPWV-T8XV-QNWMV for senior updates as we receive them.
For all students who registered for an Advanced Placement exam in May, AP invoices will be sent October 1st. All students make a first $40 deposit payment, even if they qualify for free or reduced lunch. The first payment is due October 31st. Invoices will come from APTS (Advanced Placement Testing Services).
