Ike student journalists recognized nationally for excellence

Two Eisenhower High School seniors have earned national honors for excellence in journalism.

Katherine Farmer and Ava Nightingale, members of the Eisenhower High School student newspaper Eagle’s Eye, received earned awards through the Quill and Scroll Writing, Visual, Multimedia Contest - an annual competition designed to recognize excellence in student journalism


Nightingale placed third in the editorial cartoon category and Farmer received an honorable mention for sports feature writing.

At the state level, Eisenhower High School student publications earned more than 60 state and national Journalism awards. Nightingale was also selected to the Student Journalist Staff by the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association.
