Utica High varsity football named MAC White division champions

For the first time in 15 years, Utica High School’s varsity football team has been named co-division champions with a 4-1 record, sharing the title with Grosse Pointe South.
“We have a very hard working and focused group of players and a good group of seniors and leaders that have led us all off-season and throughout this season,” head coach Matthew Marulli said. “They continue to work hard each day and are committed to working on getting better each week.”
Utica High School competes in the Macomb Area Conference (MAC) White Division alongside Grose Pointe South, Lakeview, Roseville, L’anse Creuse and L’anse Cruese North.
“It's a great group of kids that I am very proud of,” said Marulli. “They have done a great job being committed to each other and the team, and continue to push each other and work to improve each day.”
The team will conclude the regular season this week at Cousino before playoffs begin next week.
