Dear All Star Parents/Guardians:
On May 2, Beacon Tree families and residents throughout the district will consider the Safety and Success proposal that is on the ballot. Neither the bond proposal and non-homestead replacement millage will impact the tax rate on your primary residence (the home in which you live).
The proposals impact every student in Utica Community Schools. For the projects that directly impact Beacon Tree and our feeder schools, you can follow these links:
- Beacon Tree Elementary
- Shelby Junior High School
- Malow Junior High School
- Utica High School
- Eisenhower High School
Remember, there will be no increase in the current tax rate if voters approve the bond proposal.
Also on the ballot is a non-homestead operating millage proposal. Voter approval of this proposal will allow UCS to collect its full share of state aid. This proposal will not affect taxes on the home in which you live (your primary residence); it only applies to businesses, second homes, rental property and vacant land.
Call or email me if you have any questions, and please take time to vote at the polls on May 2nd or anytime now through Election Day by absentee ballot.
Also, please take two minutes to share your thoughts about the bond proposal by visiting www.research.net/r/UCSballotproposalsurvey.
