Dear Beck Families,

I hope this letter finds you well.  It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of Beck Centennial Elementary.  As a long-time member of this district, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff in this new capacity. My journey in education has been deeply rooted in a commitment to fostering an environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Michigan State University. Completing these degrees has allowed me the opportunity these last 21 years to be a classroom teacher, Teacher Leader, and most recently an administrative intern in Utica Community Schools.

My ties to this community run deep. I am proud to say that I am not only an alumni of Henry Ford II, but my husband and I also have a son and two daughters that continue to grow and thrive under the guidance and support of our schools. They have benefited tremendously from our Utica Community School’s commitment to their academic achievement, personal growth, and well-being.  This personal connection has strengthened my dedication for ensuring that every student receives a quality education that prepares them for future success.

I could not be more proud to be joining the Beck team!  It is very evident that Beck Elementary has a rich tradition of fostering student achievement and excellence that is paired with a strong sense of community among families, staff, and students. I want to assure you that I will continue to promote those wonderful characteristics while also fostering an environment where students can feel cared for and safe.

I wish you a summer filled with joy and eagerly await the start of our journey together. In August you will receive a digital newsletter from me highlighting information for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.  Upon receiving this letter, please feel free to stop into the office and introduce yourself. I know we will have a fantastic school year!
