Bus Driver Highlights:

• $21 per hour starting pay (one of the top rates in Macomb County)
• Paid training
• 5-6 hours per week to begin
• Schedule aligns with school calendar
• Nine paid holidays per year
• Five personal days per year

The Route to Becoming a Bus Driver:

• Apply or join us for daily walk-in hiring 
  • 11am-1pm at the Auxiliary Services Facility: 6600 18 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314

• Obtain Commercial Learners Permit (CPL) from Secretary of State (UCS provides study booklet)
• Go through Department of Transportation processing (pre-employment background check, drug screen, fingerprinting and TB test)
• Undergo theory, behind the wheel and beginner bus driver training with a UCS trainer
• Take a third-party road test to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Start your journey as a UCS bus driver!
