This week we honor our UCS Social Workers for the difference they make in our schools. 

In UCS, School social workers are:

• Integral link between our family's home lives and school- bringing families together with school staff to become a team to support our students at both home and school.
• Not only there to provide assistance to students individually with personal challenges, but also help teach students how to experience and maintain academic success.
• Advocates for our students and their needs within the community.  They participate in many committees and on learning teams to support continuous improvement and the implementation of best practices.
• There to bring smiles to faces; they help turn hard situations into learning experiences where students feel heard, valued and supported.
