Mr. Jerry Anderson
Currently, as the Assistive Technology Coordinator, I work to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities by using any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether commercially off the shelf, modified or customized for an individual. Staff members are trained with a variety of assistive technology tools, but are always able to reach out to me for more training or collaboration to ensure students receive what they need. I have been with Utica Community Schools for 27 years and in the field of education for 33 years. During this time, I have had many experiences working with children from coaching athletics, working in a severely multiple-impaired self-contained classroom, sports officiating, transition coordinator, co-teacher, resource room, athletic director, assistive technology coordinator, and intervention consultant to name some of them. I have also worked for years with Michigan Special Olympics on the State Games Committee for both the summer and winter games.
